Abstract

Despite the importance of games, there are increasing complaints from parents and caregivers about the excessive use of video games and interference in the school activities of children and adolescents. The concern has generated interest in the scientific community, and the risk factors and consequences of the phenomenon have been studied. To understand what is happening, it is important to recognize that we are immersed in the information society. Technologies play an important role in social, educational, economic and cultural activities. Today's children and young people were born and developed in this environment, they are digital natives.
