Abstract

The research we are dealing with here provides new data on the patterns of settlement, management and use of resources by the pre-Hispanic inhabitants of the region. In addition, the information obtained extends and complements the characterization and spatial distribution of the different pottery groups settled in the region for a little over 2,000 years.

The title of this book does not intend to affirm or refer to the existence or non-existence of direct links, of any species, between the pre-Hispanic settlers and the groups settled in the area today; It is only intended to recall our original population, constituent of this collage called Colombia, and to pay homage to the name and content of one of the most beautiful songs of Colombian music and Tolima folklore, by Mr. Miguel Ospina, as well as to the inhabitants of this warm town in the south of Tolima, always willing to welcome us in their land.
